Ceramic Artist Kerry McLaren grew up in the small mountain community of Hope, British Columbia and now makes her home in Maple Ridge. Like many artists brought up in the beautiful west coast Kerry’s art often reflects her love for the outdoors and a deep appreciation for her natural surroundings.
Most of Kerry’s pieces are hand-built from large slabs of clay utilizing texture and embellishing techniques. She often infuses personal history and a touch of whimsy by imprinting her grandmother’s dollies and her favourite finds into the raw clay.
Leaves, tree bark and onion sacks all find their way into Kerry’s vibrant pieces.
